Grounding and Centring Yourself Using Crystals
In everyday life difficult feelings and stress can build up inside leaving us frazzled and overwhelmed. This stress can cause tiny changes within our aura. In these times, grounding yourself with crystals can help to bring you back to your natural state of calm and joy.
When we make a direct connection with our bare feet on the ground, negative energies disperse back into the Earth. We can relate this to electricity – if there is an overload of power and energy, it can be grounded to Earth. In a spiritual sense, it's about letting go of negative and toxic energy that has built up over time.
To be grounded is to be in tune with the energy of the Earth, and to be in balance with nature. Being grounded feels peaceful and almost like you are coming home. Negative energy can be released through grounding with crystals. Afterwards you should feel better, relieved, lighter, and more centred to yourself.
Crystal Grounding Exercise:
- Choose one or two suitable grounding crystals (smoky quartz, bloodstone, hematite, black tourmaline, black obsidian).
- Hold your crystal(s) in your hands (make sure your crystals have been cleansed first, discussed here).
- Stand bare feet on the ground with your hands on your hips.
- Close your eyes and concentrate on your breathing, taking a few deep breaths.
- Visualise all negative energy flowing towards your feet and into the Earth.
- Hold this position for 5 minutes or until you feel lighter.
If your feeling overwhelmed or blocked, try to do this grounding session at the end of the day or once a week and follow your intuition on when you feel you need to do it.
